I started in 2009 after the economy sloped. My husband lost his job and my job cut some hours so we started what I grew up making paletas but instead of paletas I started making raspados (shaved ice) marmalades. I've been in business for over 10 years.

As a young boy growing up in Chicago, my grandmother owned a restaurant. Everyone from the neighborhood knew my grandmother, and everyone loved her food. I remember being so moved by the love everyone showed my grandmother and her food! It ultimately became a life long dream of mine to one day be able to have my own restaurant too. Through dedication and perseverance, I am beyond blessed and honored to be gifted an opportunity of my own to do that with Munchies, Where Happy Meets Hungry.
