Signature Dish: Carne Asada Fries/ Lobster Mac n Cheese
About Us:
As a young boy growing up in Chicago, my grandmother owned a restaurant. Everyone from the neighborhood knew my grandmother, and everyone loved her food. I remember being so moved by the love everyone showed my grandmother and her food! It ultimately became a life long dream of mine to one day be able to have my own restaurant too. Through dedication and perseverance, I am beyond blessed and honored to be gifted an opportunity of my own to do that with Munchies, Where Happy Meets Hungry.

JJ's Cuban Kitchen87
Origin: Cuban, Latin American, Puerto Rican
Categories: Barbeque, Empanadas, Sandwiches
Tastes: Comfort Food, Vegan, Vegetarian
Signature Dish: Cuban Sandwich
About Us:
My wife and I own JJ's Cuban Kitchen. I (JJ) had been in the restaurant business as a manager for 12 years. I have always been the fixer in the business. Cleaning up restaurants and opening new ones. I have always had a passion for creating my own food. My wife says I am the kitchen guy who has never met a stranger.
After years and years of convincing, my wife as well as other family members suggested I give it a try. The question became, what will the region think of Cuban food? Let's not forget, we are in NC BBQ country. We spent about 6 months testing the market and we were received very well. At the end of the 2020, our business came to be. We now bring awesome Cuban food to the Triad. Our food truly does speak for itself. We also brought something else to the Triad, we brought our culture and that everyone is part of the family atmosphere. As many of our regular customers. Many we know by name...Some we know by order..., but we know all of them by face. We love putting a smile to faces.
If you haven't given us a try, come find us in the Triad. We promise you wont be disappointed!

About Us:
After years of toiling away in various jobs, we realized that our true passion lay in the flavors and traditions of our upbringing. Growing up in the bustling melting pot of New York City, we were fortunate to be surrounded by a kaleidoscope of cultures and cuisines. But amidst the diversity, it was the homemade dishes passed down through generations that left the most indelible mark on our palates and hearts.
These recipes, steeped in the warmth and love of family gatherings, became the very essence of our culinary identity. They weren't just meals; they were connections to our heritage, reminders of our roots, and vessels for cherished memories. It was this deep-seated connection to our culture that inspired us to take a leap of faith and pursue our dreams.
With a fire in our hearts and the flavors of our childhood in our minds, we set out on a mission: to share the authentic tastes of the Caribbean with the bustling streets of Richmond city. We knew that we had something special to offer - a culinary journey that would transport our customers to the sun-drenched shores and vibrant markets of Jamaica and Puerto Rico.
